I've had my first injection of Risperdal last Friday. Since then I've been having fatigue and I just want to sleep all the time. The point in me taking the injection is to give me energy and make me want to do things.... to keep me from feeling like I have been. Is this normal? Does anyone know? Any input would be much appreciated.

Jenn, I know Risperdal makes a lot of people sleepy. I haven't ever had that problem with it, but I've never had the injection either, just the pills.

i used to be on risperdral tablets 4mg a day but i had to come off them cos i was lactating. anyway the doc told me to take a one if i feel aggitated just until my test results come back for me to go on ablify. so i took 4mg and slept for hours it really knocked me out so now i only take 2mg one which does make me feel drowsy but in time i am sure you will be feeling better as the side effects go away.

Yes, the fatigue is normal. It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks for your body to adjust to the Risperdal™ (risperidone). Hang in there, the fog should lift.
I hope that this helps - Cam |
