I was prescribed Seroquel xr.. We started at the lowest dose, but over the course of the past month and a half we have increased it to 400mg... and it's working pretty welll..... This seems just like a lot to me... Is it a pretty typical perscription?

Seroquel XR can actually be increased up to 800mg per day, so 400mg is not so much. I'm glad you're feeling better on it!!!!

I had a little bit of a lower dose, my doctor started me right at 300mg from nothing for paranoia, I ended up going off it though due to having an adverse/allergic reaction to it. I think you're on a medium dose, hope it works out for you

im on 400
from what ive seen 300-400 is average?

|
300 is the minimum therapeutic dose for most conditions, so you're just fine! The lower doses are generally for titration so you can tolerate start up effects.

I take 25mg every 3 hours when I'm awake and I have dystonia muscle stiffness so I need cogentin and benzos. It's probably the abilify but started at the same time I first took the seroquel. Everyone's different.
600mg is a good antipsychotic dose. It only starts to have antipsychotic effects at 100-200mg. I just use it to calm down instead of using benzos. |
