I find that Lexapro has worked very well for me. Lexapro is a SSRI. Generally speaking SSRI's are the safest and most effective medications for anxiety included in this class our Celexa, Lexapro, Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, just to name a few.

I have been on paxil and love it. Although I have heard some horror stories but I cant relate to them. I'm on it for anxiety and depression. Mostly for Anxiety. I'm interested in knowing what you were put on. Keep us posted

Ammon,

A few that haven't been mentioned yet are:

Klonopin (Clonazepam)
Xanax (Alprazolam)
Zyprexa (Olanzapine) used for treatment of Bipolar and other disorders, but also helps with anxiety

I recently started Abilify (Aripiprazole), and I've found it to be helpful with my anxiety as well.

Hope some of this helps!

Greg

I'm on a cocktail of lexapro and buspar. Seems they are working.

for me, BuSpar has been a very effective med for anxiety. it has few side effects and is non-addicting. it's also known as Buspirone.
