Hello all!

My mother was put on wellbutrin sr for smoking cessation. What is your experience with it? I have only heard positive things. She said she tried it 20+ years ago, and it didn't work. I said it was because she quit the day she started it...

I told her to take it for a month before her quit day... The doctor only said 1wk, and I said no, that isn't enough.

Wellbutrin didn't do anything for me. I felt exactly the same on it and continued to smoke.

The only thing that got me off cigarettes is vaping.
Thanks for this!

Ditto. I was on it and continued to smoke. I didn't feel any different.

It actually helped me quit.
After about 3 weeks cigs started to taste kind of off to me.

The thing about cigs is that there is the nicotine withdrawal which is supposed to last less than a week. That's when your body should be clear of it.

That habit can be tougher for many to quit. The pills helped with horrible withdrawal symptoms i was getting when trying without it. The habit was something i had to deal with on m y own.

I would get on the phone and instantly think i need a cig.
Wasn't a real craving but more of a thing i was so used to.

It was odd for a while.

Good for your mom for trying.

I kept trying and trying and refused to quit trying to quit.

How long were you taking it (people who it did not work for)? She tried chantix but she was sleep walking, and it gave her terrible nightmares.

Know this is really old... She started taking the medicine today, and her mood went in the toilet! She says she feels really depressed, and stressed. She says that if she keeps feeli like is she may never quit smoking.

Is this the medicine do you think, or is it just a bad day? It's only been 2 doses but aren't side effects present after he first dose?
