Hi everyone!

So, I've been taking Latuda since July. It works well for me, but the side effects are really getting to me. I barely have an appetite. I think it's the Latuda that's causing me to barely eat. Also, I get nausea and I am vomiting if I don't eat enough. I have to take it with dinner, but unless I eat enough I end up vomiting. Which is a serious problem when I don't really feel like eating. I don't see my psychiatrist until November. My therapist emailed my psychiatrist about this issue so I have to get in touch with her to see what he said.

Does anyone else have issues with appetite on Latuda? Does anyone else have issues with nausea and keeping their food down while on Latuda? What were things you did to combat the nausea and vomiting? I would hate to have to change meds again, but does it seem like that's what I'll have to do?

Thanks for your help!

Don't have any side effects from the med.

I get extremely nauseous and puke if I don't have enough in my stomach when I take my Latuda, but that's really the only side effect I've noticed. I can't take it with dinner because if I take it more than 45 minutes to an hour before bed it makes me super tired and fuzzy headed, so I always just have to make sure to snack before bed, and I try to keep things in the house that I can eat even when I don't feel like it -- yogurt, pretzels, cheese sticks etc.

Thanks sing! That's a good idea to keep things in the house that I can eat. I hope that helps me. I can handle eating a little at a time. It seems that usually I have to take Latuda with a full meal and not just snacks.

Have you done anything for the nausea and puking, or do you just make sure that you've eaten enough beforehand?

I just make sure that I've eaten enough before taking it. I haven't found any other way around it.

I used to have to eat quite a bit more with Latuda, but the longer I'm on it, the less I have to eat before taking it to avoid nausea etc. Now I can just eat a small yogurt or a cheese stick and I'm good, but it used to have to be a sandwich or something like that.

Thanks so much for your response! I feel a lot better, and I don't feel like it's just me. Hopefully, I'll need to eat less too as time goes on. I'm finding that I have to eat full meals in order to keep from puking.
