I started taking Lexapro 2 days ago and am not liking the side effects. I am wondering how long it will take for my body to adjust. Both mornings after taking it the night before I have woke up with a terrible headache and stiff neck, clenched jaw (which happens all day) and today I have the chills too. If I know these things will be short lived then I can just suffer through it for a few days, but if it is going to be long term then it isn't worth it. Anybody experience similar side effects?

Hmm. I take a low dose of Lexapro. I remember the initial headaches - those do seem to subside after a few weeks. I cannot tolerate heat...but then I'm also very sensitive to cold...but I don't know if that side effect is from the Lexapro or from another medication.

I'd say give it 2 - 3 weeks, at least.
Thanks for this!

I've been a Lexapro for 2 years now.. I love it.. Believe it's really helped. I don't believe I had any issues at first either.
Thanks for this!

I took Lexapro for 2 years before it pooped out on me and there were no real notable side effects. But give it at least 2 weeks before you jump ship.
