Has anyone taken Lyrica? It's prescribed for nueropathy, which is nerve deterioration. I have it in my feet, legs, hands and wrists. It can be so uncomfortable.

I'm afraid it might mess up my meds regimen. I'm doing really well with my dx's and I need some discussion before I try it.

Thanks!

Jan

Pat, maybe we can keep each other posted on how we do with it? I'm sorry you have to take it, too.

Hugs,

Jan

Lyrica is pregabalin, been out several months I think. It's an anticonvulsant, like Gabapentin and Gabatril. I had terrible problems with them, so I'm not sure I will try the pregabalin Lyrica The problem is where it works in the brain, for me, not necessarily the medicine itself?

Good wishes!

Thank you, Sky. I tried it today and became extremely tired, but I had only had four hours sleep, so I can't really judge it. We'll see.

Hugs,

Jan

I took for a very short while a drug called Gabatril which is similar to Lyrica. It zombied me out. With my surgery and chronic nerve pain the doc thought it may help. I found myself sitting in one spot staring at the wall for a couple hours at a time.

I started on 75 mg. and was dizzy like crazy. That was my first and final dose. My doc said the dizziness will stop as I get used to the lyrica but I was not willing to put up with another dose of lyrica.
