Hi
I think aripiprazole is the cause of my diminished libido. It went down drastically. To zero interest.
Did anyone experience this side effect?

I don't know - I've never had a libido. Either sex is just not for me or it's because first I was ill and in a lot of physical pain, and during and after then I was on meds. (I'm 18 now)

At the very least I haven't experienced an increase or decrease in libido while respectively decreasing and starting/increasing my dosage. (I'm tapering off now)

It never affected mine. I was on it for 4 years from 2 mgs to 20 mgs and it never effe, cited me like that. Everybody is different, though.

Abilify never decreased nor increased my libido. I was on it from April until late July. What mg are you on? Also, are you taking any antidepressants? Some psych meds do decrease libido or make it hard (or impossible) to achieve orgasm.
Thanks for this!

Sorry for that. I am using Tapatalk and cannot see signatures, unfortunately.

This website is used to discussed medications and medical issues. The complaints page for Abilify is here:

https://treato.com/Abilify/?a=s#concerns-tab

According to this page, 624 individuals complained of sexual dysfunction. That number might be higher in the general population. I hope I was of some help. Take care & I hope this gets taken care of for you!

It killed my libido after 5 days. That was the end of that.

A guy friend was on the shot version. It killed his libido, too. It drove him nuts! He got off the stuff as soon as he could. He's now a lot happier, LOL.

Interestingly, I was on Abilify for a few months & it markedly increased my libido!

Antipsychotics can affect individuals very differently though.

Are you on any other types of medication? SSRIs are certainly notorious for having sexual side effects.

Yes, I feel the same way, however I am also taking Prozac and Klonopin as needed; so this may also being affecting my sex drive as well.

I have found the opposite with Abilify. My libido has stayed the same or increased since I started taking it. Been on Abilify for almost 2 years now, I've had the injection form and pill form and never once did I lose my libido. Interesting.
