I live in the USA, I'm going to be traveling from the USA to Germany.

How is airport security with medication? I'm keeping everything in prescription bottles. I just don't know if they're going to go through my stuff.

Will security go through my medications? Do I need to bring anything special with me? Doctors note?

I didn't need anything when I flew to Italy from the USA. I also kept everything in prescription bottles.

Just make sure to keep them in your carry on bags in case they lose your luggage.

Yes, keep your meds in their original bottles and keep them in your carry-on luggage. I've flown to Israel, to Germany, to France, and to Ireland - never had any problem with meds & airport security.

If you bring prescription medications from my country (= part of the Schengen area) into Germany, you need a medication passport (basically a list of your medications, that you get from the pharmacy) or even a doctor's note, depending on the medication. Therefore I think it's likely you'll also need one of these when traveling from the US (= not part of the Schengen area) into Germany. But maybe you can contact an embassy and have them explain the laws to you.

Good advice. Always good to have doctor's note and copy of prescription just to be safe though I've never had mine checked.

Only time I had issue with actual meds was when I was taking lithium citrate(the liquid.)

It was in prescription bottle and they almost took it! Can you imagine stopping it suddenly like that?
