My doctor just gave me a prescription for zoloft 50 mg. I hae anxiety, depression and panic attacks. I read the information that came with the prescription and in addition to the side effects that are common to anti-depressants, zoloft came with a warning of something called "seratonin syndrome" that can be fatal and when I researched seratonin syndrome it can occur after taking just one dose of an SSRI. Well, I read that and had an immedite panic attack. I'm terrified to take it, but I need something as my anxiety is out of control. Has anyone else heard of this or have any experience with zoloft or SSRI's. How did they make you feel.

Here is some additional information on Serotonin Syndome that you may find useful.
FYI I have been taking two anti-depressants, Prozac and Effexor XR, at the same time for several years. I have never experienced any of these symptoms. I am not sure how frequently serotonin syndrome occurs, but I'm sure your doctor could give you more information about it. |
