My 13 yr old son went to a psychiatrist today, I feel he's been suffering from depression. The dr put him on paxil. I've been reading many things about it on the internet tonight, and am very troubled by what I've read, especially that it should not be given to teenagers. I see my own pdoc on Thursday and I am going to discuss this with him. My son seemed so happy after we left the office, feeling like he was going to get help now and start feeling better. I am really afraid of this drug. And the pdoc said he would need to be on it for a minimum of 3 - 5 years. Does anyone have any advice or stories they can share about similar experiences?
