Hello Snowsunshine: Perhaps I'm mistaken...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Since you are currently on Paxil & Lamotrigine, you presumably see a doctor... hopefully a psychiatrist... not simply a general practice doctor. (I don't know... perhaps things work differently where you live as compared with how things work where I live.) The best thing I can suggest is for you to consult your treating physician. I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time... ![]()

I have to agree with Skeezy on this. Talk to your Dr and see if they can give you something to sleep, even if it is just for once a week. I take Atarax and it helps some, but I still have nightmares every night on it, so once a week I take an Ambien and that knocks me out and helps me catch up on sleep.

Have you tried other solutions like Benadryl or melatonin? Or even lavender lotion or mist etc. Just some ideas.

What does your rx bottle say? Paxil is an AD...
Please check with your pdoc and let pdoc know you aren't sleeping. Take care. |

Talk to your pdoc. If you can't right away, I suggest an OTC like Tylenol PM (because it's cheaper than Benadryl, Unisom, Dramamine, Nyquil and its all the same active ingredient) to help you sleep. Two Tylenol PM will usually do the trick.
I personally take two with Valium to sleep as I have a similar issue. Really....don't take more Paxil than you are prescribed...it will more likely cause than cure insomnia. I don't know when you take Paxil but I used to take 30mg every morning before I switched to Prozac. It was important that I take it in the morning in my case. |

Getting Valium or any benzo is becoming more difficult. The four main ones are Ativan, Xanax, Valium, and Kolonipin. Of them, Kolonopin is probably better for sleep as it seems a little more sedating for me anyways.
They are habit forming so docs ore reluctant to Rx them. Visteral is decent for some people and docs will prescribe it for anxiety...maybe to help with insomnia. |
