Hello, I started treatment 4 days ago. I haven't noticed any improvement in hallucinations. He said it could take 1-3 months to get the full effect. But I figured I would have at least a little improvement. Just a little glimpse that it is working. Should I just be patient? Or should I talk to the doc in IOP on Tuesday?

I should mention that the Celexa has helped a little. But just barely. That's why I'm concerned about the seroquel. Thank you very much for any assistance.

Hello ElliotAlderson: I can't comment with any authority regarding your concern. Just in general, I would say that 4 days is simply too soon. But I don't really know.

Since this is an issue I would talk to your pdoc today. I take Seroquel, and it did take about 6 to 8 weeks to reach a therapeutic level (the point at which I began to have a decrease in delusions).

I hope this helps.

One word of caution. Celexa and Seroquel, in some patients, can interact to cause heart problems. Specifically, a prolonged Q-t interval, which can lead in the worst case scenario to heart failure. My pdoc, who has me on both does regular ECG's to monitor my heart, and recently discovered a problem - so we've cut my Celexa dose in half and will reevaluate.
