I'm seriously exhausted all the time. All.the.time.

I'm taking Latuda, lamictal, gabapentin, levothyroxine, birth control, folic acid, vitamin d and Ativan prn (I never really take it!)

My thyroid is normal. I think vitamin d is too. But the last few weeks I am just SO tired all the time regardless of how much sleep I get.

Any tips for a safe supplement or whatever to take to help with this??

If your doctor says you're healthy enough to exercise then exercise. I recommend 30 minutes per day of aerobic exercise.

Yes, it's a paradox. You say you're very tired, and it may seem that exercise will make you more tired, but the opposite is true.

I hope this helps.

Good idea! Exercise can be very invigorating. It definitely helped me with my fatigue and my depressive symptoms.

The one time I was seriously exhausted all the time, even though at the time I just kept thinking it was my normal exhausted all the time feeling, turns out I was extremely anemic & my OB/GYN put me on a prescription folic acid/iron supplement that I had to take 3x daily for quite an extended period of time. But this also coincided with having a uterine fibroid & endometriosis. So I guess if everything else checks out, exercise & diet are the next steps to undertake, both of which I have an exceedingly difficult time with. I hope it doesn't turn out to be something serious for you.
Thanks for this!

I got plenty of sleep last night but can't pull myself out of bed today. I've got no motivation and just feel so exhausted.

I don't think this is my meds either.

Hi,

One thing you might want to look at is whether anything in your routine might have changed within the last few weeks that might be contributing to the feelings of exhaustion that you're experiencing. Another factor that I'd consider looking at is seasonal changes, given the fact that the summer is coming to an end here in the Northern Hemisphere. Vitamin D is one nutrient that we get from the sun, and I know that you wrote that you're taking a vitamin D supplement, but given that the sun emits more vitamin D-producing UVB rays during the middle of the summer than it does at the end of the summer or in the autumn, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that your vitamin D level might have dropped some over the last few weeks due to seasonal changes. Another thing to consider is that in addition to helping our bodies to make vitamin D, the sun also helps our bodies to synthesize and release beta-endorphin. So, even though I think that there are other factors to consider that might explain why you've been feeling so exhausted over the last few weeks (such as any changes that might have been made to your routine), one factor that I'd look into is whether seasonal changes might be contributing to your fatigue, perhaps by affecting vitamin D and/or beta-endorphin.

I think that getting your GP's input about whether or not another vitamin D test should be done would probably be a good idea. Even though I think that taking 2,000 IU of vitamin D would likely minimize any decline in your vitamin D level that could be occurring as a result of seasonal changes, it seems possible from my perspective that your vitamin D level could still be declining as we approach the end of summer and that such a decline might possibly be a reason as to why you've been feeling as exhausted as you've been feeling. So, I think that getting your GP's perspective on this matter and talking to your GP about whether it might make sense to get your vitamin D level retested would be worthwhile.

Do you have a history of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? This is a mood disorder due to each day having a shorter amount of time of sunlight. Due you tend to be more depressed in the Fall and Winter than the Spring and Summer?

If so, I believe they sell "light boxes" (I think you can buy them from Amazon). I would talk to your doctor before buying a "light box."

I hope this helps.

I agree with you that a light box is a good approach to consider for declining levels of energy and/or mood that would seem to be related to seasonal changes. This would, in my opinion, be a good thing for Halliebeth87 to look into (and to ask a professional about), as well.

I'm bipolar and my episodes are pretty unpredictable.

Lately though I've also been thinking I'm seeing spiders like indidnwhen I was psychotic. And also feeling disconnected like I'm in a dream. My anxiety and panic attacks are worse too....
