I just started taking Effexor, well I guess I have been on it for about 2 weeks. I took one pill for 7 days and now I am up to 2 pills a day which is what my Dr. wants me at. I have had some horrible anxiety attacks, to the point where I can barely breathe. they have gotten worse since I have been up to 2 pills daily. My Dr. said at the next appt. we would discuss some more medications because this one doesn't do well for anxiety. I am wondering if I should go back to one pill a day? Or is it my caffiene intake? I have tried to lower that too. All this medication business is kinda new to me.

You should call the doc. He/she might tell you to decrease back to one a day or maybe add something such as Klonopin, Xanax, Lexapro or Buspar. Breathe deeply and calm down, you are not going to die! If anyone is going to die is will be me from my deep vein thrombosis. Maybe, you need a different doctor?

I agree, definitely let your doctor know and be careful about changing doses without consulting him/her. I know, for I recently changed my wellbutrin dosages around a couple times and got into trouble (side effects). Best wishes and keep us informed!
