I just started Metformin to help with weight gain from clozapine (an anti-psychotic). I've been on it a few weeks and while I lost 3 lbs initially that's all I've lost and I may have gained it back. I'm eating a high protein, high fiber, low carb diet and exercising as able. I'm not on much metformin and what I've read sounds like the studies have been done with higher doses than I'm taking.
If you are taking it to help with weight gain from APs how much are you taking and is that working for you? Thanks

It did not help me lose weight at 500 mg and I took it for a long time before discontinuing. Note that taking Metforming for weight loss is experimental use.
