Sorry to be such an inquisitive pain but here goes, I saw my doc and explained the Lamictal while up to 150mg (target will be 200mg) alone was making me agitated and starting to get to the point of not sleeping well, very similar signs but less, that I was showing at the begining of the time I was diagnosed with the Bipolar II disorder, so we also went back to the 900mg's of Lithobid. Do you think by taking both I'll have the chance of experiencing less of the "blunting" that started to depress me as time went on while I was on Lithium alone and with Celexa?? The doc said it may help reach a "balance", yeah, doc there is always a chance . . .
When you get a chance let me know what you think about this strategy of using Lithium and Lamictal'

Limpid Pools - Lamictal is used with Lithium, more than with any other Lamictal combination. The lithium blunts the highs (ie. mania) and the lamotrigine tackles the depression. On paper this combination looks great, and there have been a lot of success stories with it.

What you are doing is taking a very potent antimanic agent (lithium) and probably the best non-antidepressant, antidepressant (lamotrigine/Lamictal™ - very little risk of manic switch.

Unfortunately, the weight problem "may" , I repeat "may" return. By forcing yourself to eat healthy, without cheating, you should be able to stem the weight gain tide. Keeping a food journal and writing down what you and when, gives you an at a glance look at where the intake problem is occurring. Be strong darlin'!

I was going to mention this combo earlier (and I may have), but at the I was going to bring it up you were so anti-lithiumI thought it wiser to keep my mouth shut.

C'mon, get out there and win one for the team !!!! Cam, how about this "combo" ???

If ya need cheerleaders, bptoo and I will break out the pom-poms and short skirts (did I tell ya that we're both Scottish, lass). Ummm .... nevermind. Between you and me, I think bp's got bigger pom-poms than me. Cam, how about this "combo" ??? Cam, how about this "combo" ???

Now of they'd only make a medication to cure broken hearts, right? You see my dad is in his final stage of emphysema, they are now doing a tracheostomy right as I type, they don't give him much longer, and my heart is breaking. It is probably a good thing I've been on this "combo" for a while now, I had no problem getting back to the Lithium, doc said the weight thing can be at the "peak", often in the begining the max gain occurs then it levels but you still must watch your weight I always have and was thin, this is weird to still do the same and be a little plump They claim Lamictal in many does not cause weight gain, some even lose weight, is that true??
I do feel less fatigued with this combo, but I wonder if it is due to the stress, a good trigger (a little sarcasm) cause I am not sleeping till 2-3 in the morning, doc gave me ativan to use only once in awhile, they do not give you much. It works like a charm As usual thanks so much for the info
