You can see the meds i take in my sig. They seem to be working great for me. I'm sure their are others on this amount of meds or more.

I'm just a little concerned about being on too many, or am i just being worrisome for no reason?

Any feedback is appreciated

Thanks

I don't think you are on too many meds, especially because they're working for you. I'm decreasing some of my meds, but I'm still on 5 psych meds.

I take 6 meds, and I think that's too many. But my pdoc doesn't want to change anything.

to me ((not at all trained in anything medical)), it looks like...what's it called..."rational polypharmacy," I think is the going term (?). 4+ drugs, but each one serves a purpose and the combined effect gets the job done.

I guess when you have multiple drugs in the mix, blood levels can become more of an issue. My only concern (speaking as someone who took wellbutrin until recently...) would be the wellbutrin blood levels, because of the seizure risk. But ssri+wellbutrin is a common strategy, so that's probably just me being a lil bit paranoid.

i know what you mean, we relinquish control of our lives and completely place it at the mercy of our doctors to do whatever however they fit. it takes a lot of courage to do that.
Those thoughts, what if our doctor is wrong? what if its too much? thats just our minds are trying to look out for ourselves.

Besides trusting our doctors, I think the only thing we can trust is our own body. If something is bad for you, you will feel it, if something is good, you will feel that too.

My daughter has diagnosis of MDD, Bipolar 2 and Anxiety. No ADHD and she's on 3 meds. Tegratol, Serzone and Desipramine. Her PDoc was very thorough in explaining why he added the Desipramine. The Serzone at max dosage wasn't doing a lot for her depression, so he added the Desipramine. She seems to be resistant to SSRIs.

I'm on 6 psych meds and my psychiatrist is thinking about adding a 7th. When I think about it too much, I do get a little freaked out. I mean I'm on more meds than my roommate and she has schizophrenia.

But the combination is more or less working for me, despite some side effect risks that I've decided I can live with.

I don't think any amount of meds is too much as long as they are effective and the side effects aren't too severe. However if you are taking meds that don't do anything at all, I'd talk to your pdoc about quitting those. If they work and you can handle the side effects (if there are side effects), good for you.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess if the meds are needed and working, than they are necessary it seems. It does make me feel better knowing others are on multiple meds also, and doing well. Were definitely not alone.

I'm on five, and often wonder if it is too many. It is good to know that others have the same question!

The list is below in my signature. I am grateful that I don't take tons like I have heard some people take, but I feel that for a 19 year old, it is rather much.
