I wasn't a fan of it. Really all ssri's tend to send me manic. Celexa wasn't as bad as zoloft or paxil. I hope it works well for you.

I'm not a fan to Celexa because I did not feel it taking me out from the abysmal hole i was in. Until I met it's brother, Lexapro (ESCITALOPRAM) 20MG.
It's typically the same molecular formula. The difference between CITALOPRAM & ESCITALOPRAM is the follwing: Escitalopram is the stronger and more powerful version than Citalopram. Chemically speaking its the most active isomer in Celexa. It's been proven to be effective in alleviating depressive symptoms on the first day. I can testify that the first day I tried it Lexapro, it uplifted my spirits and within the first week, I felt even better. Celexa, even after 5 months of treatment, I did not see a significant improvement. Then again, everyone reacts differently. I wish you the very best! |

At 10 Mgs it made me sleepy. At 20mgs it gave me screaming headaches. This is going back years before I was being treated for sza so I could react differently to it now.

I've been on Celexa for years, and find it really helps with both my depression and anxiety. I take 40 mg/day. I don't find it at all sedating, so I take it in the morning, that might be something you want to try.
There are 2 downsides to Celexa. It interacts negatively with a slew of different medications, so your presctibing Dt really needs to know meds, or you need a pharmacist you can trust. The other problem is that it can cause cardiac arrhythmia. I have that as a side effect. But the med works for me, so I'm willing to make that trade-off. splitimage |

He wanted me to take it in the evening. Maybe this is a fluke thing. I struggle with insomnia already. I don't want it worse!
