So past few days my jaw has been clenching and hurting. Told my pdoc, he reviewed last med change and it was an increase of lactimal to 100 from 75 mg and intro to abilify. He thinks it's the abilify so he temporarily took me off it. I see him again tomorrow in my iop but I think he won't do anything till I go back in Monday since he saw me today.

Anybody have jaw clenching with either? I hate to go off of either cause I felt my mood has been lifted significantly but have been stirring up an appetite with abilify.

my guess would be the abilify. even the newer tranquilizers can still cause twitches, tremor, etc. (EPS). do you need a daily, long-term tranquilizer? antidepressants can cause jaw cleninching, too, now and then. maybe its the combination of abilify and the pristiq?
Thanks for this!

I've been on pristiq for quite a while. Today I'm not clenching and I also haven't taken abilify. Pdoc said see if I'm without clenching Monday and would replace it with something else.

Not sure yet. He wanted to give me a genetic testing but I already did one. Couldn’t give it to him cause printer was jacked up and they don’t accept outside emails with that info from an unsecured one (hippa). So when I get him that info he will decide. In meantime he upped my laticmal another 25. So it’s at 125 now.

I've been taking Lamictal for a few years. No side effects here, but everyone is different. I would suspect the Abilify first, too, as I would the Vraylar I am on. Powerful meds with lots of known, kooky side effects.

Yea day 2 and no jaw clenching either. He also bumped up my lamictal so abilify was the culprit.

hi. maybe its for the best? tranquilizers are best used in people who really need them. they're heavy artillery, even the new ones.
