I find it helps greatly with my irritability and moodiness, but it seems to give me quite a bit of energy and at the same time my mind feels so clear(because I am not irritable which made it feel foggy), I have another fogginess where I have trouble thinking of words to say, or remembering what I need to do.

Anyone have any experiences with cymbalta for depression? Will the kick it gives eventually calm down?

My next appt with my doctor is in january unless I have any serious side effects like insomnia that I may need to see her about, and I don't want to go that far just to ask her a question.

Cymbalta did not work for me-- however I know quite a few people who have had success from it. The issues you are describing normally go away once your body gets used to the medication. How long have you been taking it?

This is my first week. I have taken it before for 2-3 weeks but I was on neurontin at the same time which kind of alleviated some of this energy(always figured it didnt help because I still had a lot of energy from cymbalta, but now I know it was working since cymbalta gives this much energy).
I also yawn uncontrollably even when I feel like I could run a marathon lol.

I will post again in a week or two if I still have the symptoms.

I took Cymbalta for a short time because of some unpleasant side effects I had with Effexor. Unfortunately the Cymbalta was the worse of the two for me. Cymbalta raised my blood pressure. This is listed as a potential problem with the med, but I do not know how common it is. I returned to the Effexor after trying it because my doc and I decided the effects from the Effexor were better to deal with. The Effexor causes me increased sweating which can lead to dehydration if I don't stay on top of it.

I had similar experiences with effexor.. also since my overdose on effexor, I gag whenever I take capsules and the 30mg rattle down my throat.. making me gag now..

Though an update, the energy has kind of gone down.. sex drive gone.. more emotional but not irritable at all anymore... and im happy, thats what matters.

I will keep updates through this, and hope others will share their experiences still Cymbalta for Depression

I only took about 10 of the highest dose(dont remember what the effexor doses are, was like 75 or 150? Might be less cuz i dont remember what doses it comes in).. Nothing really happened because I was forced to the hospital to drink chalk. Paxil did more to me on an OD than effexor did.(my first suicide attempt was on paxil 5 years ago when i was 16)

Along with the yawning, I find if I yawn too much, I start to get TMJ symptoms(mainly just jaw popping right now).. I have also heard of other people getting these symptoms from cymbalta.

I take Cymbalta but the pdoc says it is for the chronic pain I have. Emotionally, it does nothing for me but I am not depressed. I really think that it is making me feel worse physically than better.

I think that I'd be better to go back on Prozac. I was at my best when taking it.'

I took Cymbalta for several years for chronic pain. It didn't help with my depression. I also was taking Prozac at the same time as well. Eventually, both of them quit working and I had a meltdown. It wasn't good. Cymbalta for Depression :
