pdoc said lithium was not the cause of my anxiety attakcs... said that i should give it more time to help me and he gave me ativan... has anyone taken ativan beofre? does it help well with anxiety?

Yes I took Ativan for awhile and it did a great job with my anxiety (and stopping the panic attacks). Just be careful because it is addictive. I have found Xanax, Ativan, and Klonopin to be equally as effective in controlling my anxiety. I am currently on Klonopin-- as with any benzodiazepine, I try to take it only when I really need it. Good luck with the Ativan-- it worked well for me.

doc wants me to take it twice a day... so im hoping it kicks in cause i want to go see my grandma for her b/day and also go to my couisns wedding

Thats suprising that your doc wants you to take Ativan twice a day...I only take it about once a week...Just when I need to go out and am feeling anxious. I used to take it more often but my body became immune to it...It works really well, but very addictive.

yes so far its working good.... but seems to wear off and the i feekl the need for more....
