I've been on seroquel since 2013, so I guess that counts as long term. I haven't been messed up by it. I do have a couple of side effects that I consider problematic, trouble swallowing for a couple of hours after I take it, and muscle stiffness. But for me it's worth it.

What's your experience with seroquel been like?

i have an acquaintance who had mild tardive dyskinesia. the doctor switched the tranquilizer, he's better now.

if you want psych drug horror stories, mad in america has lots of them, written by the people/"patients" involved. I seem to recall one lady on high dosage Seroquel who ended up going blind, something like that.

I’ve been on Seroquel for about 3 years. It helps me a lot especially to sleep. I’ve tried other APs and had all kinds of horrid side effects so I went back.

I've been on Seroquel for a few years. Nothing odd that I've noticed except, yes, weight gain.

Been on it for some years. Besides some weight gain I haven't noticed any other problems with it.

I was on it for five years. I gained a significant amount of weight. I also ended up devoloping hypothyroidism which may have been realted to the Seroquel but no way to know for sure. Some of my weight gain was likely from my hypothyroidism. I take a thyroid med now and haven't gained more weight. I switched to Geodon which works equally as well and seems to make me less hungry.
