I need it for what I believe is borderline personality disorder, and was prescribed that along with Xanax by a GP. Unfortunately, I am about 20 pounds heavier than I would like to be at 5"5 and a half and 144 pounds. I want to LOSE weight...not gain it.

It's kept my appetite pretty mellow the last few days. I am not picking at snacks or over eating from my anxiety anymore. But has anyone gained weight on this medication and not over ate? I know there is another post on weight gain but i'm wondering if anyone has the experience with celexa.

I can't gain!

Good that is what I am hoping for. I am hoping for weight loss really...I was with an abusive partner and was pregnant for a while and I ended up going from one meal to constantly eating all the time. I ballooned! I want my depression and symptoms gone but not if I am going to gain.

10 years ago I was prescribed celexa at high doses as the first psychiatric medication I ever took. Unfortunately it flipped me into my first mania, and I've been ill ever since. They call it 'unmasking' bipolar but I see it as triggering an illness I might never have gotten. Anyway it was weight neutral.

I am on it currently, experienced no weight gain while on the Celexa, now I'm on Zyprexa as well and now I'm gaining but I attribute all that to Zyprexa and now Celexa. When I was only on Celexa my appetite was actually way less than normal.

I gained 37 pounds on Celexa in a year. I’m really not one to go by when it comes to meds and weight gain. I lost 80 pounds after getting off Buspar. And weight gain and increased hunger on Buspar is pretty much unheard of. I’m just really sensitive to the weight gain side effect.

I had Celexa when Prozac stopped work, and Prozac when Celexa stopped working. I couldn't tell the difference.

I've been on Celexa for years. No weight gain. Just watch out, at the higher doses, it can cause heart problems, which it has for me.

I took Celexa after Zoloft and while taking an antipsychotic medication. I gained weight with all medications. I stopped taking Celexa after becoming diagnosed with mania. I was then started on Depakote which was really bad for me in terms of side effects. All in all, I started anti-depressants because of extreme depression after taking risperdal. Then, I started to get manic then was taken off them. I don't know which medication caused me the most weight gain but know that I gained much weight from taking medications in general.
