So I’ve been on Lovan 20mg for approx 7 months now. But I’m getting an unpleasant side effect frequent urination I feel like I have to always urinate and that there is some urine left. This happened some time after my psychiatrist up the dosage from two daily to three. I also have ocd so I don’t know I told my Doctor and he said this is both the mental illness and the medication?

Hi, I have not heard of Lovan. The side effect doesn't sound pleasant, at all. I assume that your doctor means that anxiety can cause frequent urination, but if it's happened only since you started taking the medication, well....common sense tells me that the problem is the Lovan.

I looked it up and Lovan has fluoxetine as an active ingredient, so it's similar to Prozac. I was on Prozac for a while and didn't have the urination problem. But it did make me throw up. It's hard to tell because side effects vary from person to person.
