My psych has switched me to Pristiq 25mg after I have done the genetic testing and Pristiq was on the green list and various TCA. I’m taking Zoloft now and it’s on my yellow list and prior to that took Prozac for 5 years. My test told me that ssris has reduced efficiency. I’m scared to start a new med because last year I did the error of reading horror stories while I was on Effexor for 3 months.
I have some depression, panic disorder, and dealing with some agoraphobia. I definitely need to switch but afraid. |

I was on Pristiq for 5 years plus one other med I can’t remember. It was wonderful until one day it just stopped working. That is when my med rollercoaster began but I had 5 great years. I did the genetic test and it said most things should work for me but that didn’t work. Then we decided I am bipolar and that antidepressants make me way worse.
It is impossible to predict what may or may not work unless you try it and give it a chance. Wish you luck and hope you can get at least a few years of relief. I hate how it seems like our bodies work against us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had been in an awful depression about 2 years ago and nothing was working. I asked my pdoc for ECT and she said we could look into it, but she wanted to try one more medication. It was Pristiq. It has been a miracle for me.
The only side effect I have from it is heat intolerance and hot flashes. I had those at the higher dose. Not great saide effects, but much, much better than depression. I encourage you to try Pristiq. btw, 25mg is extremely low.

Yeah, I'm probably going to switch to Pristiq because my doc recommended I do. I am currently on Effexor.

I was on it for I think 4 years. I could feel the difference at the first dose. It was like the world had color again. I only recently went off it. It did its job, kept me alive, safe, and functional. The most effective med I tried.

Nah, I stayed on my Effexor XR. I guess that is a better drug for me. I take a pretty high dose of it.
