I just started on Abilify on Friday. Already, I am having problems sleeping. I slept most of the day today and yesterday in various lengths naps- two hours this afternoon. I am now tired AND wide awake at the same time. Were this morning, I'd get up and go do stuff and get a nap later. But it is evening that that's not really an option. (It IS, but....) My insides are humming sort of. At dinner with my boyfriend at a friend's house with his wife and 3 kids, I felt like we were eating at 3 a.m.! My internal time clock is off, I guess. I'd trade seeing people and buses that "disappear" over this! Ugh.

I'm so sorry that you're having trouble sleeping; that makes everything so much worse! I hope that you're body adjusts to the side effects quickly.

Hi Moose72, I take 30 mgs of Abilify and have not had problems with side effects...maybe they will wear off? If not, maybe you will need to see your pdoc for a new med.

hi! I called my pdoc. She put me to 5 mg for the time being, instead of 10. I feel MUCH better. Not perfect though. Right now I feel a bit anxious, but nothing NEAR what I did on the 10 mg. A coworker said that's how he felt after being on some illegal drugs in the past- that antsy HAVE to go do something-climb-the-walls-and-ceilings, etc. feeling. YUCK.

I called the psych. ER who paged my pdoc who then called me back because I got to feeling worse! She's stopping the abilify for now, upping the Depakote to 1000 instead of 750, and adding Klonopin short-term. I hope it helps. My BF things I "Just need exercise and healthy food". That might be true in the long-term but right now, no. I am trying to keep on a normal sleep schedule and work schedule.
