Lately I have been having severe anxiety. I am not sure what is causing this, nothing has really changed in my life, all the same problems still exist, except now I can't deal with anything without freaking out (anxiety). I take xanax now 2 0.5 pills twice a day as needed (usually its always needed). I have taken klonopin before, but I don't remember if that actually helped witht the anxiety (which was not as severe) or if it just helped with my back pain (allowing my muscels to relax a bit). I don't know what to do anymore. Anyone have any suggestions?

See a doctor again...You shouldn't have to suffer like this.

I agree with Labyssum, you should talk to your doctor, there are other medications out there that will help with the anxiety over a longer period of time.

Hi, Jennifer!

I've been treated for major depression, recurrent and bipolor II for years with Xanax being added intermittently "as needed." I have been telling my pdoc for the last year that I feel the depression/bipolar is under control but the anxiety is the main issue.

At my last visit he switched out my anti-depressants from Zoloft to Cymbalta and anti-anxiety from Xanax to Klonopin! WHOA! I felt an almost immediate difference...like a "normal" person again!!!

Sometimes we have to take a stand on our own health needs.

*Hugs* and hoping you get some relief soon!
