The shrink put me on Seroquel so that I get some sleep. If I get too much sunshine (I'm photo-phobic & photo-toxic) the muscle pain from the Seroquel becomes too bad to handle: Much worse than an impacted tooth! Tylenol #'s don't touch it (Tylenol & 90 mgs Codeine).
On days when I get little or no light, the Seroquel works as advertised. Has anyone seen anything similar? jw Say what you mean: Mean what you say. Whatever you say: Say it with love. The Moody Blues: Keys to the Kingdom

They gave me Seroquel in the hospital, but I'm not sensitive and wasn't in the sunlight much to have a reaction if I would have. Have you tried Ambien? I really liked that for helping me fall asleep.

Is it possible for you to avoid the sun, or are you a sun lover like me? I've never been on this medication, but I do know that if you are normally sensitive to the sun and take a drug with sun warnings, it will be even worse. If its hard to stay out of the sun, I'd discuss the situation with your doctor and ask about an alternative drug. You do use sunblock?

I use the best sunblock plus long sleeves and pants and a ballcap. After about 90 minutes of unprotected exposure to light in the short blue to long UV range I get symptoms similar to the flue: Fever, chills, cramps, etc.... That is, assuming a good amount of skin, say both arms and my face, receive the exposure. This is called phototoxicity. I also have photophobia, which is the same thing, but in the eyes. I get a sunburn on my eyeballs after only a few minutes of unprotected exposure.
Flourescents do the same thing as their makers add chemicals to increase the amount of blue light coming from flourescent lights. The Seroquel, in the winter, works fantastic. I get a good eight hours of sleep and wake refreshed. It's the summer which is the problem. I'm going on FAR FAR too little sleep. jw Say what you mean: Mean what you say.
