Anyone can tell me anything about this med? Your experiences on it, anything?

I was just put on it and start first dose tomorrow.

Thanks

I don't know what dose you're on, but I was starting out pretty low and had a bad allergic reaction to it. Broke out in hives on both arms. Had to take an antihistimine (sp) to clear things up.

Good luck.

Miracle drug. Felt depressed for 20 years and feel mood is better since started Lamictal 2-3 months ago. Now I get out of bed, eat better and function more like a human than a zombie.

Hi mysteri. My pdoc said he wanted to start me on this one, but becuase it takes so long to start working he didnt. Now, after trying two others, he has me on this one. He said there are very few side effects and i'm hoping this is the miracle drug for me. Thanks so much for responding.

It is a slow titration so that they can watch for side effects - the rash you hear about. I started on 25mg/day, then 50mg/day, then 100mg/day, then 200mg/day. each step was for a week. That is the faster titration. Depending on what other drugs you are on and how suseptible to side effects will depend on how fast they titrate. Also you pdocs personal favorite rate of titration plays in too Lamictal

Good luck and hope you have as good a response as I did!

LamictalI agree w/everyone who posted. Lamictal is good and I did notice a change. I was started on 25mg for about 2 weeks and then went up from there. I'm now on 300mg and I hope I never have to go off.......pj56

It is a great drug but I got severe mouth sores. I am prone to them anyway so this drug just made that worse.

Now I take Neurontin and at 400mg no side effects at all.

mysteri, thank you for the information you've given me. I'd answer more, but i'm so damn tired and can't think quite straight at the moment.

((((((pj56))))) and (((((almeda))))))))))

Thank ya'll for your wise words. And i hope the sores and rashes stay away from here. from what my doc said, missing more than a few doses is what causes that. So i dont plan on missing any.

Ya'll have a great day!!!

i took it for awhile but it was too expensive,it helped me more than zoloft does. AT FIRST I HAD HEADACHES WITH IT BUT INCREASING WATER INTAKE CURED THAT

IF YOU GET A RASH CALL DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY AND DISCONTINUE AS ITS ONE MAJOR FLAW IS A LIFE THREATENING ALERGIC REACTION THAT STARTS AS A RASH.
BUT MOST PEOPLE ARE FINE ON IT

I have been on this med since the begining of winter. At first I didnt think it did much, but as the dose went slowly up, I started to feel a little better. no rash. with me it seems that they have had to keep increasing the dose to keep it working. not sure if it is helping me now, but I have been hard to treat.

So far no rash or side effect i know of. Just a low appetite. Which is good for me.

On tuesday i go up to 50mg. I just know these past two weeks its been up to down minute to minute it seems. I hate being someone hard to treat too. (I do everthing the docs say) lol
