I know I only take 4 meds, but, it seems like alot to me.
Seroquel 200mg
Lamictal 100 mg
Cymbalta 90 mg
Ativan 1mg 3x day
I was diagnosed with BPD..and given these..I was taking 40mg of Prozac for a couple years..but switched to Cymbalta.

Do I need all these plus therapy for BPD..I am a pretty mild case according to my therapist?

Only your psychiatrist can prescribe meds and tell you why/if you need them. Maybe schedule a sooner than usual appt with him/her if you are unsure about the meds!!

Take care,

Dee

I would definitely discuss it with your pdoc. I saw a definite improvement with my meds (decrease in delusions, paranoia, increased focus & rational thinking, decreased depression & agitation, etc.--bipolar 1) so the meds were welcome to me. I take 6 of them, but I do worry about all the possible damage they may be doing that they don't know about yet. Will they have a recall in 2 years because of some dire disease one of them causes??

Pdoc wants to add serequel (sp?) but I just refuse as I am already taking Topamax, klonopin, trazodone at night--all sedating & I still don't sleep more than 3 hours, which is bad for the bipolar--in a mixed, moderate, episode now, but I don't want to get too drugged up (relatively speaking!! I'm sure the general public would be appalled at what I take--plus all the supplements & thyroid med, high blood pressure med, high cholesterol med, potassium pill, B-12 monthly shot-prenicious anemia.

I take:
Wellbutrin
Lamictal
Abilify
Dexedrine
So far, they have been working well. Each has a purpose. I think the meds work better in combo with each other....but everybody is different.
