My husband has been put on a 24-hour holter monitor due to chest pains, they want to rule out everything because his family has heart problems in their history. He was given a perscription for nitro-quick. You put it under your tongue 3-5 mins apart until the pain is gone... How does it get rid of the pain? Its like majic to me, and I guess I would like to know how something just placed under your tongue could make such a difference? How does it do this?!

This may be some help.

Nitro-Quick is given for the prevention and treatment for chest pain (angina pectoris). Nitro-Quick helps improve oxygen supply by relaxing the walls of blood vessels, resulting in their dilation and reducing the workload of the heart.
