Is it possible that Lamictal actually stops working when I get PMS?
I seem to be worse than ever a week before my period. Its bad..... I had heard that Lamictal effects womens hormones and I was just curious if this is the case. Also, Anyone else get acne when they started Lamictal? Thanks in advance.

I've heard about this somewhere -- try www.crazymeds.org and look up Lamictal. I think he has a section on hormones. It's a really good site, in any event -- I used it to look up all my other meds too. He's a little sarcastic here and there, but informative.

Well, I can't say much, cause at 47 my hormones are whacky anyway, but I have been on Lamictal a little over 2yrs and actually I found it to help with my PMS "rages", though I am no picnic to be around during that time of the month, I have mellowed.
All meds can affect people differently, so it is best to talk to the prescribing doc about it. Lots of luck with this  DE
