could you elaborate on your stance? the reason so many are asking is one of the moderators of this forum, a pharmacist, happened to think the article had merit/was good. that doesn't mean he agrees with or supports everything written in it but instead suggests that it could be an informative read for most.

to call something total propaganda preying upon the lack of knowledge says you have strong feelings on this matter.

again, would you elaborate your stance for the members of this community? as a visiting guest contributor it would be nice if you could engage in a dialogue with the community members instead of absolutes and one liners. capiche?

whoa - hold on - from psisci's confused response, it almost looks like he might have made a typo. Give him a chance to respond, ok?

Thanks

as far as i can see here, all that has been done is three members have asked him to explain what he meant.........and i bet he's capable of figuring it out..........

i was taught, growing up, that knowledge is good. getting knowledge has always meant asking questions.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

respectfully, ethelmom

I hope that the Dr. is responding to the link "Chemical Imbalance" written by the CCHR, and posted by Helga and not the link to the article "Chemical Imbalance" at the beginning of this entire thread. (The one that CamW gave his thumbs up too.)

Sorry, but anything associated with the "Church" of Scientology is suspect to me.

glad that was cleared up

Fayerody, knowledge and questions are good, I agree. I wasn't discouraging it - just wanted to give him a chance to answer.

BTW, I'm not a supporter of "modern psychiatry" as an end to all mental illness suffering. To me, psychiatry and psychology and their respective uses are quite varied and different. Chemical Imbalance Article Fortunately, psychiatrists are a shrinking breed. Chemical Imbalance Article

I agree that this field has its good and bad, as almost anything does.....

But I have to say that I, without a doubt, owe my life to the advances in this field! Chemical Imbalance Article

Sure hope that "Modern Psychiatry/Psychology" doesn't shrink to the point that we will be back to the times where they just institutionalized people like us.

Take care everyone..

edited to add:
_SKY, why add the "rolling on the floor, laughing" icon to your reply?? This site is "PsychCentral", a supportive site for people with mental health issues. What about adding that specific icon was supporttive or even needed? Your opinion is one thing, but to add an icon that seems to make fun of the people who do use and need this field of medicine is just a bit mean spirited. JMHO

My final response was to this article which I agree with...

http://www.mental-health-matters.com....php?artID=160

My original response was to the other article basically saying neurochemistry has nothing to do with it.

My bad for the double entendre. It was a joke, a play on words... "shrinking"

Nothing mean-spirited at all.

I'm glad the confusion was cleared up. I totally agree with the doctor; the original posted link is a very nice article, and the later link (the one from CCHR) is pure propaganda from Scientologists.
