some of you know about how pdoc stole a plastic gorilla from one of his colleagues (child psychologist) and now carries it around in his briefcase - too scared to put it on his desk in case someone else catches him with it.

anyway, today he leant it to me for the week, because i have an assignment due on monday and i need someone to motivate me, and he said Didier (the gorilla) will. and he will also protect me from some of the ptsd-craziness i'm going through, so the weekend will be ok.

pdoc still has Max (a friend i gave pdoc for Didier), so we'll be connected through the week. pdoc introduced Max to the pharmacist today, but he was too worried about Didier's fugitive status to risk anyone else knowing he has 2 gorillas.

i like that i have something special of pdoc's. i'm feeling very looked after, right now .

Cool. Sounds, again, like your pdoc is really good for you.

I googled Didier to find a special meaning to the name. Did pdoc say anything about why he used that name?

I'll be with you over the weekend, too, but you'll be fine on your own.

thank you (((pegasus, impy, reflection & kiya))). what an awesome group of people to have in a group hug!

lol, reflection - yes pdoc is getting klepto, and i totally encourage it. he asked me whether he should return Didier and i was like don't be ridiculous .

kiya - i've heard about your monkey before, and i've always been secretly jealous . but now i'm in on the ape-family of love . does your magnetic monkey have a name?

impy - he kept coming up with ideas, and in the end he thought of didier because it sounded "jaunty". i just looked up what it means... i will have to go and tell him next week - he will be delighted.

thank you for the encouragement with this assignment i have due... it's going to be real challenge for me, but i'm going to at least try this time.

Oh oh. What if someone discovers that you have it?

Duh - I forget that my monkey's picture is right here in my signature (LOL) Yes, his name is from the Gryffindor Ghost in Harry Potter - Sir Nicholas de Mimsy Porpington; Sir Nick for short. He got this name because of his white ruff (like Sir Nick wears) and because the name is as long as the monkey's arms/legs!
I was wondering about what kind of gorilla because there used to be these Kipplinger luggage bags that came with matching gorilla key fobs that were the color of the bag - some boys, some girls, all with names, and they could all put their thumbs in their mouths.

pegasus is right. gorilla may only be 6cm tall, but that just means he's perfectly placed to attack your toe. and we all know that toes hurt the worst, right?

i thought that was sir nick in your sig!! but then i got all confused because you didnt mention him, and i was like... ahh... must've dreamt it up .
Didier was made by 'Britains Toy Company' in 1978 (which apparently used to be one of the bigger toy companies in the world?). he's plastic and full of mute rage. couldn't find a pic of didier, but found one on ebay of max:
pdoc gave me a protector

didier looks like max but he's got his arms in the air like he's bellowing in rage. and he's plastic (max was made before WWI, when they made quality toys out of lead).

didier is french - comes from the italian 'desiderio' - meaning longing/desire . pdoc will love that he stole something and gave it that name - i don't think he knows what it means .

I had Sir Nick with me in my pocket today for the bread making event at my clinic. T and 2 of my dr's were there. I started to get panic when some guys got too close in my space, so i took my pills and got Sir Nick from my bag. Glad he was there. My main dr then left due to a headache =( but the day was good, and i had my invisible support system right there.
