As a lot of you know, T is very good with me about transitional objects; for example, I have a beanie baby Armadillo from her office - offically named by PC members - Benedict; t also brought me back a toy/soft w/magnetic feet monkey that hangs out in my jacket pocket or attached to my lamp (or various items in my backpack; forks, spoons, pen caps...), and often when T leaves the country she sends home a special crystal with me. In fact, I earned the monkey by going back to t after my apnt and asking if I could take the crystal home when it wasn't offered to me before her last out-of-country trip in January.
Last month T had a "Bread-making day and plant exchange". I learned how to make spelt bread and T sent me home with her left over bread knowing i am allergic to food =) AND i now have 2 aloe plants and a squash plant from t's garden just to be sure I'm totally covered in the T transitional object department ![]() Sooooooooo... i thought I would share T's bread recipe here with everyone so that when they are needing T and some healthy comfort food, it is right here. T teaches that bread is a good thing to get centered with and helps calm the mind. The other day in one of my moody "I hate life" days, i decided to pull out the bread recipe. You ready?? Here it is... yes it is WHEAT FREE, MILK FREE, and can be EGG FREE for all sensitive peoples... The bread recipe is really quite simple - no bread maker required... "Easy Spelt Bread, 1 loaf" 6 Tbsp warm water 1 tsp active dry yeast 3 cups spelt flour 1 tsp sea salt (I substitued 2 eggs) 1/3 cup almond milk 2/3 cup hot water 2 Tbsp oil or butter 2 Tbsp honey or agave 2 Tbsp ground flax seed (or meal) i added 1 tsp vanella extract i added cinnamon on the top when loafed and ready to bake Combine yeast, warm water and honey in to very much loved, warm bowl. Perferrably wooden or glass, and preferrably a wooden spoon (I only have a metal bowl - what's a gal to do). Let stand 10 minutes after stirring. Stir in butter/oil, salt, flax, and half the flour very slowly, stirring 100 times...then also add the hot water and stir. Start to add the rest of the flour while stirring - watch for it to reach a good point to place dough on floured surface to kneed. Will use remaining flour as needed to cover the flat kneeding surface and to add to get dough elastic and smooth - no sticky areas (I didn't manage this the other night, and it still ended up fine). Sing or think loving thoughts (or pray to the bread angels for a bread miracle!) while you kneed (T is very big on the spiritual aspects of breadmaking - nurishing that which nurishes us). Then put the dough in a bowl and cover it with a cloth, set in a warm place. Let rise until nearly double its size (around 2 hours... (again, mine didn't rise at all, and was still delicious!)). Then deflate the dough gently with your fingertips (or palms if you're me) to get all the air out, then cover again and let rise again (around an hour). Take out of bowl and shape into a loaf. Let rise in buttered, floured pan for another 30 minutes (after the 30 min is where I added cinnamon). Place in center of preheated oven (350 degrees) for 45 minutes to one hour. Eat some while still warm!!!! =) I noticed that in the clinic kitchen, there is a framed photograph of bread dough being made =) ENJOY!!! ![]()

Cool recipe, might try it some time, but mate - you didn't just substitute those eggs, you missed them out entirely. When does one add those almond milk/eggs???
PS. Can you use wheat flour instead of spelt flour?? (Maybe the answer is obvious, but no cook am I) |

As to flour - yes, you can use any kind of flour. T's page even says can mix flour if you want (two cups spelt, one cup barley or oat, etc). No worries - I'm no cook either - but it totally works out =) Tastes sooo good. I even added the 2nd egg in last and thought I had surely ruined it. But nope! T also says you can put in a fruit juice if you want, instead of eggs. I guess the dough is very forgiving =)

Today's transitional objects were T's yoga mats. Today was spa day and we had some nerves about the whole thing. But got both of T's mats (has her name on it *grin*) and did class. I'd dropped out for some time because of anxiety. Anytime anxiety started to rise I rememberd that today T is literally supporting me. Also, I'd left her a message last night (she says that she always listens to them and sends me good energy to support me) and felt her support lifting me, wanting me to really enjoy spa day. =)

I like that you can feel her positve energy send. A while ago a friend who live far away was really sick to I sent her a care package. One of the items inside was with a handcrafted glass ball. I told her that when she was having a bad day, to pick up the ball because I filled it with a lot of positive healing energy. When I think of her or know that she is going through a rough spell, I will deliberately imagine refilling the ball. I believe we have energy to share.
