I was at a thing at my kids school this afternoon and ran into a good friend I had not seen in about 6 weeks. She said I looked like I had better gain a few pounds. I know this has gotten to a point where I should do something now. I can push limits with food and then I get scared and out of control. She said, "Is (my t's name) helping at all?" And she gave me a referral to her t who she says is good with ED. (This friend has an ED as well). She gave me lots of stories about people who have seen her. I asked a miliion question about her.....you know what those questions were What I need is someone who can do ED and then can deal with my particular brand of crazy (thanks Deli) when the food stuff is under control. I liked what she told me.

My friend came over and we looked her up and she is on my plan <big relief> Then I left her a message. She sounds good. Real good. But, of course, I wont know until I meet her.
Then she gave me a HORRENDOUS story about my PNP. My friend didnt know the soothing voiced person in my PNP's office that I have an appt with. Makes me wonder a little bit about my PNP! But still I trust her, so far.

Who recommended your PNP? Do you think the story your friend told you has merit, or is exaggerated? You like her, don't you? I know this is hard. I suggest seeing "soothing voice" with an open mind, but a recommendation by a friend is worth a lot. Seeing them and asking them your questions will tell you a lot. Don't worry!

Rainbow- I am afraid to say what happened in a public forum. But maybe its OK- no names here. Someone she knew very very well commited sui and was seeing her for meds. The change in meds was a big problem and it seemed to have made this person much worse and then he commited sui. He was not open about his feelings to my PNP or his t. But he should have been monitored more closely. The t this person saw was not the soothing voiced t but he works in the office.

As a matter of fact, my t told me a story about a borderline pt that committed sui and I felt like that patient needed more care from her- maybe it wouldnt have happened. It was b/c of the details of the story that I thought that. Her story had a different kind of impact on me than she intended. She intended it to scare me out of sui thoughts (she is brain damaged not dead). I told this story to my h and it was then he wanted me to leave her for all of the reasons I posted here. My h wants her to give me more care.

Sorry if my writing seems weird....my PNP increased my medication and it is making me feel woozy. But it doesnt it stop me from posting? LOL!
