So where/how did you learn "what's wrong" with you? Everyone has tendencies and exhibits all of the disorders in words or actions at some time. We are all human, after all. Just like we all have all the emotions, a lot of things are situational and/or what we've learned in our past and practicing different behaviors over time can help some.

I hope whoever "they" are that "will see" come up with a plan to help you.

Hi There,

It makes sense that you're concerned about getting a new diagnosis. Because as humans we are so complex, we often don't fall into an exact diagnosis. Instead, our symptoms and difficulties overlap diagnostic categories. Try not to feel overwhelmed by having more than one diagnosis. I have three of them myself. The important thing is that you and your t have a starting point to work from. It's true that medication will not cure personality disorders, but it can help stabilize your moods, which will make it easier for you to work on your other issues. Different kinds of therapy can help you address these other issues and become more skilled at managing your thoughts and feelings. It can be hard to work through things if you don't have alot of social support. It sounds like your husband doesn't really understand your problems. Is there any chance he would go with you to a few therapy sessions, so that he can be more aware of what you're going through? I'm glad you have some friends you can at least talk to.

Can I ask..... What was it that made you seek treatment? Was there a particular symptom or feelings you were having that you needed help with?

So you went to a mental health professional who spent 5 minutes with you and diagnosed you with 3 personality disorders? Perhaps you should just ignore these hasty diagnoses and consider the MHP to be irresponsible. Making such a major diagnosis and then offering no plan for how to manage is not professional at all. I wonder who "they" is?

This is an excellent question. Perhaps you could try to put the hasty diagnoses out of mind and focus on solving the problems that brought you to the "diagnoser." Fore example, are you having trouble regulating emotions? There are therapies for that. Or are you having trouble getting along with your H and communicating effectively with him? A marriage counselor can help teach you and your H good communication skills. Etc. Just return to why you sought help in the first place.

Hello - I, just me, would highly suggest individual theraphy as you mentioned. Medication is very important in some of your diagnosis, but therapy is going to be what's needed to face the issues that have brought you to being: I have Borderline, Histrionic, and narrcisstic Personality disorders??? K that's all I have,,, besides I'm a wreck so my advice may just be way out there.
