i'm doing everything i'm meant to be doing. T doesn't seem convinced that i'm bipolar. I hate her. She said wait til the session to talk. I hate when Ts act like that. I just can't be ducked (change a letter) with psychotherapy anymore. I'm trying so hard does it matter to her or anyone anymore. What is wrong with me?

Sometimes I get frustrated with T ... like when I feel like I couldnt make my point.... I write...and I write when this happens .... and sometimes I write T and email it to him so I can make my point outside of session .... maybe this can help you too? I hope you feel better..... ![]()

Sometimes getting a consensus on a diagnosis takes awhile. What really matters is if the treatments are working. Don't get bogged down in the diagnosis.

yeah um T doesn't hav the qualifications or authority to diagnose. Her opinions count, so i want to know she agrees. Don't know why.

Hey Crystalrose,
You know.. as I recall (I could be wrong), diagnoses do NOT tell much about the patient itself. I think it mostly serves for insurance reasons, so that insurance companies know what to cover for and how much. In the end, what is really important is the treatment itself. Which SHOULD be determined by the patient's problematics. I wouldn't rely too much on the diagnoses itself, it does happen that T's make wrong diagnoses, I've had several wrong diagnoses myself, but the treatment I got was more specific to my personal problems. If you have bi-polar symtoms at the least, they will most likely find treatments that fit with the symptoms itself. In the end, diagnoses serve mostly for insurance purposes and to (this sounds crappy but) categorise or label your general problems. I do understand that once the diagnoses is made, only then can T's actually start helping you. So I hope they do make the diagnoses quickly so that you wont have to wait too long. Hang in there, things will start happening for you for sure. Keep strong ok? CC. ![]() |

((((crystal))))
yknow, i think i've been through just about every neurotic diagnosis out there. depression (atypical, melancholic, psychotic, exogenous - take your pick ![]() ![]() these things don't really matter so much in australia (where it doesnt matter for insurance purposes). consensus between professionals is so low that it's a joke to try and get people to agree. i think the best you can hope for is that the ppl who are helping you take your symptoms and concerns seriously. unfortunately, sometimes that means waiting until a session so that they can discuss things with you in depth. you need (and deserve!) undivided attention - not a 10min grab on a phone between clients. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
