Just glancing back at this thread. I've heard the phone "vibrate" from time to time but it doesn't bug me. I do get distracted for a sec worrying that someone might be having an emergency. One thing that bugs me...I have noticed on calls to/from T that T puts the phone on speaker...creepy.

I do have a ringer for T and pdoc and it would work for me as well...

My T puts his on vibrate. Sometimes he just ignores it, in which case why doesnt he turn it off. Sometimes he checks who it is and then ignores it. I wish he would turn it off when I am in session.

I can not hear my T's cell. But T will say "My phone's exploding" - He usually has it in his shirt pocket when he says that. LOL.

It's too bad that the movie "what about bob?" never had a theme song. My ring tone would be that.

I missed this thread and am just now reading it. Very interesting! Bt's phone rang about 3 times in 7 years, and she answered it, but first told me "I have to get that." It was always a client and she talked very briefly. It didn't bother me. So far I haven't heard a phone ring in Kt's office.

Blue, I like the songs you do: Over the Rainbow is one of my favorite songs, as is When You Wish Upon a Star. I like Bob Dylan too. But for my ringer with Bt, I would choose Where is Love? (from the movie/play Oliver!). It seems to be my theme song.

I'm kind of glad this thread came up again.. my T's text sound goes off all the time. It doesn't bother me so much because it's part of life and I'm relatively patient but it does distract me from my train of thought so I do try to drop subtle hints instead of ignoring it. Like, "do you need to get that" or "is that me or you?"

Recently, I went back to my old state and had a visit with my old T at a coffee shop. It was very casual and she didn't turn off her phone and it rang half way through our chat and I told her she could answer if she needed to, so she looked at it and said, "definitely not answering that right now" - it made me feel special, but at the same time, I knew by her response that it was probably a client and it also made me kind of sad for the person on the other line. I know she cares for me deeply, but I just hope I never provoked that response in her when I was her client.
