Well, I had my two-hour, empty chair session today. The first of several. Feeling like I got a lot done, but am emotionally drained. I could use some cyber hugs if you have them to spare.
thanks.

hugs to you!

What is an 'empty chair session' if you don't mind me asking? I am seeing a therapist, but I have not heard about this.

2 hours! Wow. That is good work. HUGS and many supportive thoughts...
I am curious along with cutebagaddict08, if you ever feel up for sharing...

Empty chair is, in a very basic description, where you sit across from an empty chair and talk to it as if the person who abused you was actually there. Then you switch places. You also talk as an adult to your inner child. It's complex, but that's it in a nutshell. It seems silly, but it for me was an amazing way to release feelings that I could not release any other way.
Thanks for this!

two hours with an empty chair? You need real hugs. this is all I have at the moment but I hope someone in your life can hold you and let you rest a little, and let their strength flow into you.

oh my gosh that was so well done.
Thanks for this!

I can understand why that could be very emotional draining. You have alot of strength to do that!

If you don't mind me asking...where does T sit and does he/she have a role in the process or do anything at all? Just curious
