That is one of the problems with the therapy section. It only seems to be for people with bad childhoods. If you didn't have a bad one, you don't belong here... Eh... ever dawned on you people that you can have severe mental issues without a bad childhood???

So... I talked to my T about this, about what is my responsibility to PC people I don't feel I can help, or if interacting with them makes me unhappy? He says not to do it. So yes, I do choose who I respond to. I am not Mother Teresa. I am not trying to be Mother Teresa. I relate more to people who do see an historical reason for their issues. Not so much to conspiracy theorists (for example, not saying they necessarily have issues), even (or especially) those I am related to!
Thanks for this!

Huh?

You can choose to talk to whomever you like. If you choose not to speak to people with a different background, no one is forcing you to.

All I'm saying is, that people can have issues that don't stem from childhood and that should be respected TOO. That is why I avoided being here. In a now removed thread I was told I was just being in denial. I'm not very fond of accusations like these. But like I said... it's accept psychodynamics or leave.

I think I really broke my promise to myself and got dragged into this again. I will use the sections that are safe and productive for me instead. Cheers.

It is?

I find it hard to understand how people can develop severe mental issues without childhood trauma -- it's a subject worth discussing, I think. How does it happen; why would it happen? Ideas?

should we have a new thread for that topic? I think it's worthy of its own thread anyway.

Thanks for your participation in this thread. At this time, the decision has been made to close the thread as it has gone off topic many times and seems to be some dissension among some of the members which is against posting guidelines.

Respectfully,

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
