AAwww gosh I am sorry. I always miss my T when she is gone too. When will your T be back? Do you have anything you can do to help yourself cope while she's away? Can you write letters, draw pictures, email her, anything like that? Do you have some movies to watch, books to read, things to help the time pass? I hope she comes back really really soon!
Thanks for this!

What do you do when your T is away? I write little "mini-updates" to myself and then update him on the highlights when he's back.
Thanks for this!

We still text back and forth. I have already received a text from her today saying that she had a good flight and landed at her destination. I am grateful that we have that but I still miss actually seeing her....
Thanks for this!

I think it is WONDERFUL your T is answering texts for you and letting you know she is safe. That is not something many Ts would do. Latch onto that kindness and enjoy the bond with your T. Let yourself feel how much T cares for you.
Thanks for this!

Thanks WePow and I know that what she does for me is really special as she doesn't do this with any of her other patients, and I really do appreciate it, She sent me 3 texts tonight and said she would send more tomorrow. It didn't take things long after T left to stat to get chaotic. Crazy issues at work and she is trying to support me through this right now...Oh I my T.

Definately agree that your therapist sounds wonderful, most T wouldnt do this but I understand it's still hard to not see her

I have a 2 week break from my therapist because of the Easter holidays I dont have any contact with her between times. I think she needs a break from me anyway as she has been talking of ending a lot recently. I was supposed to see my mental health worker today ( i only see her every 3 weeks or so) but she cancelled - which I could have prediected as she always takes off work before or after public holidays as a way to extend her own time off. I'm trying to stay positive but it's not easy. I feel stupid as I seen my T on monday, so i havent even got 1 week over yet.
Thanks for this!

Yea, I didn't hear from her today even though she said that she was going to text me today. I guess she was busy...

Hang in there Cats - time without T can be tough, it's good you're keeping the connection!

Yuppers. She is an avid texter. It isn't uncommon to get a 3-5 page text from her.

Does anyone here have a picture of their T? Just curious if I am the only one that would like one or not...

Hey, I often thought the same and I have read how some clients ask their therapists for a photo to help them when they are separated from the therapist so that they can cope e.g. between sessions or over holiday periods. I talked about this to my therapist - she wasn't very keen on the idea at all and said it was a bit too personal - thankfully i hadnt openly said I would like one because the feeling of rejection would have been bad. Thankfully I founda picture of my T a few years ago online and have kept it. I never told her though...I think she would think I am obsessed or something
But your therapist sounds very open to those types of things and perhaps would be ok with you having a picture of her??

xxx
Thanks for this!
