I had an appt with her last friday that I called her and told her i needed to reschedule, I called her on Wednesday before the appt, i had not heard anything back, then I called her cell and left a message and that was on either Thursday or Friday, and now its Tuesday and stil I havent heard anything, should I give her more time or do you think Ive given her enough time? I havent had her very long, but I would think she shouold answer her calls in a timely manner, and this is a bit overdue in my opinion, what do you think?

I think that you have given her ample time to respond and should find a new one!

I'd try one more time. You have your pdoc's cell number? How unusual.

I would call once more and then start looking for someone new, if she doesn't return your call - today or tomorrow.

Farmergirl - One of my pdocs gave me her cell number. It was for emergencies only. (which came in helpful when I went into Seritonin Syndrome )

I think it's a good idea to call again, and use her office phone this time. You never know what happens to a person's cell phone. I have misplaced mine several times or been unable to charge it for various reasons, etc. Her office phone shouldn't have these problems.

Also, I recently had an experience where I was present when a pdoc was fired without any warning. He just had to get his coat and briefcase and head on out the door forever, without being permitted to contact any of his clients. All those patients had to be rescheduled with someone else.

So you never know what is happening. Could be a family emergency has called her away. I know a good pdoc is hard to find, so if you really like this pdoc besides this phone problem, and her treatment is helping you, I would persevere. And discuss it when you you see her next. If you're not so keen on this pdoc, maybe this phone incident will be the straw that broke the camel's back and you'll leave her.
