The "Missing T" thread that WePow started got me thinking that I would LOVE a monkey stuffie to represent T now

I wondered if members of psych central could think of a stuffie/plushie that they would choose to represent their T and upload a photo on the boards with an explaination.
Thanks for this!

Thanks. These types of posts are really helping with the long weekend. When I was going to a session a couple months back, I saw in T's car that she had a couple of plush yarn hair dolls sitting in the back seat. I thought to myself at the moment I saw them that I would love to have one of those just to kind of remind me of T when I feel like I need to reach out. They looked something like these...

Here's a couple of monkey stuffies for you to choose from:
If T was a stuffie...If T was a stuffie...If T was a stuffie...If T was a stuffie...

My T is a kangaroo! She nurtures me and let's me stay safely tucked into her pouch as long as I need to be!

If T was a stuffie...

My T would be a rather buff looking stuffed duckie. She's blonde so the color I most associate with her is yellow-- which, to me, represents safety, sunshine, and cheerfulness. Her face is sweet, welcoming, and gentle, which is how I envision a little duck to be. She also has small, dark eyes and a big smile. The duck's big beak works perfectly because my T laughs a lot and, when she does, her smile seems to overwhelm her face. My T's big platform shoes also look kind of like clown feet, just like the duckie's. Finally, the blue T-shirt with the car on it reminds me of how athletic my T is and how she's rather tough and buff for a woman. I see her as having the perfect mix of sweet, delicate feminine nurturing - and strong, determined, masculine protectiveness.

I also think it's interesting that I chose a duck to represent my T because, as a child, the stuffed animal I had was a duck. I named him "Duckie" (clearly, i was a creative child ). So, the fact that my T looks kind of like a duck to me is a testament to how safe I feel with her and how comforted I am by her.

If T was a stuffie...

Ok, my stuffie would be a horse. (OMG, not a stuffed eskie dog)
The bond with a special horse is amazing also & a horse helps carry you through the rough places in life so that you don't have to walk through it by yourself alone. A horse is sensitive to the slightest change in pressure in how you sit on it, or the pressure in your legs. One can do a beautiful dance being one with your horse.....exactly the kind of relationship that would be wonderful to have with a T.

Like the rainbow color of this stuffie horse also because God gave the world the rainbow & God provides the wonderful T's who can help us through the rough things that hit us in our life. My very first stuffed animal was a stuffed horse my mother made for me before I was born. His name was Seabiscuit.....the race horse back in the early 50's when I was born.

If T was a stuffie...

Stormyangels, I wanted to so desperately go buy a yard hair plush doll, but thought it was weird. I now feel its okay after you just said you are going to buy some stuffed monkey. Thanks!

I think it's completely ok to find things that help us connect to someone healthy! Something that reminds us of our value and strengths. Something that nurtures us, I think is always ok.
Thanks for this!

Yay! Sooo cute, stormyangels!

I just googled to see if I could find a real stuffed duckie like my picture but, alas, no such luck. You see, I don't just want any duckie. I want THAT duckie because THAT ONE is the one that looks like T
Thanks for this!

Nothing wrong with stuffed animals at any age...around my 16th birthday last year, I went to the Build A Bear Workshop and got a black bear with a blue shirt, underwear, overalls, fishing hat and Converse high tops. When we went to Michigan's Adventure a couple weeks ago, I bought a stuffed Snoopie and a miniature PigPen doll (the dirty boy from Charlie Brown)

K, now I'm laughing out loud! The funny thing is that my big defense meachanism used to me humour. My T saw right through me and wanted to stop me but she said that part of her didn't want to because I actually was quite funny and it was a nice break in her day for her. Thanks T!
