This site is peer support. I believe there is a link on psychcentral.com for online therapists.

you can write about anything you want to ask for advice from your peers. there are also online chat rooms available to support you for support when you need it. most people you talk with are not professional counselors. just regular people struggling like you and me.

We have an "Ask the Therapist" section where, if your question is chosen, will be answered by a therapist: http://psychcentral.com/ask-the-therapist/

If you go to this link, you can find resources to find a therapist in your community. As well, there is a link to online therapists that you can talk to (but you pay for). http://psychcentral.com/find-help/

PsychCentral forums are for peer-support only though, no professionals or therapy given here. Hope that helps!

Thank you...your alls responses helped alot. I have a therepist i see every other week. But she doenst know of any support groups here in Louisville. She said there is other groups that deal with some of my PTSD concerns. But as far as my ADHD, this is it. I wish i knew how to work it a little better, so i can start chatting with others. I think to talk with people that ride the coaster i been on for the last 28 years would help me out alot. Even my fiancee is non educated and sometimes kind of mean if i start talking to much or get "overly exited" ya know what i mean? I dont have alot of friends neither. Well, none really. I have pushed everyone away. Then when i meet new people, i end up doing something stupid and they wont come around anymore. I dont mean to be a nusance. I was told Im a 28 year old woman that acts like Im still16 year old girl. I just want to feel accepted and a part of something. I look at something i dont want to see or want to be when i look in the mirror. That cant be normal, can it?

Definite Adder, Welcome to PC! It may help you to know that forums are divided into various concerns. There are forums for PTSD, abuse, and ADHD that may help you with these issues. In the psycotherapy forum, people post about issues or thoughts about therapy. You did jusyt great for first posts- keep it up. Many of us have found this site to be a good support

I feel like a 59 yr old woman who still acts like a 9 year old girl. I can really relate to your post, like about getting overexcited, but I do things, like household chores, so slowly, no one has ever called me Adhd. And move slowly, but I am chubby. Anyway, even in just two months, I feel like part of the group here at PC, and it has changed how I act in real life, like being in the swimming pool at my apartment. That doesn't sound like much, but last week, I really felt for the first time like I was part of a big group (made up of several small groups) all having fun together. I have NEVER felt included before. I never WAS included before, then I got in my own way and was nervous about it. Just read the posts, read the OLD posts too, you'll find out everybody (or somebody) shares your feelings. Forget Disneyworld - THIS is the greatest place on earth!
