Seeing T this evening. I know we're going to have to talk about her referring me, vs what we can accomplish together.
Right now I have this compartmentalized, with a big lock on the door... trying not to realize how much I feel like she has given up on me & has already moved on, and that her heart will no longer be in it if I stay. If you're not busy around 6pm, I could use some reinforcements.

thanks guys for all your care and support !!!
T and I had a long, candid (on both sides), unemotional (well a little more so on her side) discussion about ethics, about the relative importances of therapeutic relationship & specific training, about trust & the feasibility of starting over, about age - hers and mine - lots of facets. Bottom line, we are OK & can continue. If at some future point things are not working, we will both know it. When I left, I didn't dare ask, but she said, Oh before I open this door I need to give you a hug - and she did. |
