My T has the day off today (this is the day I would normally see him). I didn't ask why, I just assumed he was going out of town or something.

Yesterday, my dog had to go to the oncologist, so I had to reschedule a music lesson for one of my sons. I rescheduled it for this morning since my normal T appt was cancelled. My T just moved one street over from my son's music teacher, so I drive by his house whenever we go to lessons (which is weird).

Today, I drove by, and he was having a HUGE GARAGE SALE. OMG! I imagined what it would be like to walk up with my sons and just start going through T's stuff... and buying it and bringing it home! I would never ever do that, because I try to be super careful about boundaries, but it is still boggling my mind. To have the opportunity to rummage through T's stuff - how awesome would that be?

SO funny. The garage sale looked very busy. I can't wait to tell him that I drove by. I'm sure we'll have fun fantasizing of all of the craziness that could have ensued.
Thanks for this!

Interesting, tree. You're so much in a different place from me. I would be obsessing like crazy, not laughing. I'd be longing to be there going through my T and her family's stuff. I'm glad you're in a better place and you can laugh about it!

I would run away!!!!!!!!! and then be unable to get it out of my mind. I never thought of having stuff of hers but then again, I never saw her running a garage sale either

are you going to send someone over there undercover to buy something?
Thanks for this!

Tree, you really cheered me up. That is funny. With my luck, i wouldn' t know it was my T' s garage sale until i went to pay and then would have a terribly awkward moment.

Oh, that is too funny. I would have been so tempted to stop! But I wouldn't have. Or would I? No, no, of course not.

I probably would have parked down the street and spent hours obsessing over whether to go in or not. And then after that spent more hours obsessing over whether to tell him I saw he was having a garage sale. Good lord, if this had happened to me, it would have meant DAYS of indecision and agony!!!! So glad you were able to laugh about it. Glad you shared this!

"Hop out of the car, Johnny, and go buy Mommy a surprise. Here's $10." Wow I can just picture it...

HAAA!

I did have a moment during my son's music lesson of "OMG I want to go over there so bad!" but I think since I *know* I would never do that, it was short-lived.

I was telling my H about it and we were imagining the boundary-crossing possibilities. Like I could be shopping and then ask "hey, can I use your bathroom?" lol! '

I kind of liked seeing that he was having a garage sale. It makes me feel more secure and safe when I know what T is doing.

That would have been hard to resist!

Might be fun to just casually ask him if his garage sale was successful...
not saying if you shopped..
or didn't.

Tree i forgot to say that I was relaxing with a glass o wine this evening when i read your first post, and I almost spit it all over the computer laughing. ("Local woman drowns in wineglass, film at 11....")

At least, now you know you needn't feel so guilty over asking T to slide his scale for you - he must have done it already for someone, FCOL he's having a garage sale to make ends meet lol
(of course you know i am kidding)
Thanks for this!

Hey Tree that is hilarious. Thanks for the good laugh. I have to tell you that I am not at your level because I would have went in there and bought every transitional object I could get my hands on. And if I didn't have enough cash on me I would tell him to simply add it on to my bill!
Thanks for this!

Actually, my first reaction to wondering what I'd do after discovering T was having a garage sale on "my" appointment day, was that I might have parked the car and got and stood in the middle of the street with my hands planted on my hips...
