Had a disturbing call from the kids' dad (my ex). I don't feel safe. I don't know what to do. I can't breathe right now or focus.

Trying to breathe. Calm. In. Out.

He was trying to bully me. Something about 10 hours of visitation (he has specific hours of visitation set up by DHS at this time because of abuse to my oldest child). He can't just change things or demand more time.

No he can't just change things to suit him. Is there someone you can call?

Yes, you need to think about what will help you feel safe right now.

Can he come over on his own? Has he? Did he imply he would? Is he allowed to do that? (It sounds like no.) If you don't think he's just rattling your cage to scare or upset you... then... be sure not to answer the door...have the police number/ phone handy to call if he shows up (don't answer the door though)... is there a neighbor you trust who knows of the issues?

Yes, breathe.

Thank you all!

I'm feeling a little better. The guy who checks in on the kids stopped over tonight and I was able to tell him about the scary phone call earlier. I feel okay...doors locked and outside lights turned on. It's going to be okay.

if you dont feel safe maybe you could call the non emergency number of the police and just let them know you're scared.

Can you tell someone you trust what happened and make plans to check in with them later just so they know you're safe?
