OK, y'all...check this out. The Mood Gym, at http://moodgym.anu.edu.au/. It's an interactive website to teach CBT techniques to users. All free and super easy to use.

Many of you know that CBT is considered to be one of the more effective therapy methods out there, so here it is in a nice, slick Web interface. I've just gone through the intro, and it looks like (1) a neat little tool, and (2) I'm really pretty much a wreck according to the tests, but I guess that's not really a surprise.

So head on down under to The Mood Gym. It ought to be fun!

This is interesting! I've only gotten through the warpy thoughts part -- will do the rest laster. I'm actually a little surprised at my results, but will spend more time on it this weekend.

Thanks, Davey!

A really interesting program. The only downside I can see to it right now is that some people who are really depressed might not have the energy or motivation to fill out all these quizzes. A really great idea for a site. I was wondering when something like this would come along.

That was my reaction, too, Ben...I was thinking about it the other day. Just happened to run across it last evening.

I did the "Warpy Thoughts" part too, and it just confirmed how looney I really am! Mood Gym!!! Free T!!! So, I'm looking forward to going on through it...but, it's out to 3D for awhile first!

I would but in the beginning one of thier protocals states they collect personal information.

Back in 2000 I had my identity stolen by a drug adict in chicago because I filled in some on line surveys and tests like this.

The way I found out about my identity being stolen the person had been arrested on drug dealing and social security stopped my SSDI checks because inmates are not elegable to recieve grants while incarcerated. She finally confessed that she was not me when they told her they were placing her into a state mental health facility because my past health records that I had to release to varify who I was included information aboiut my three commitments.

I am still reestablishing my credit history. Now I never fill in on line surveys and NEVER use my exact personal information including the name I go by in real life now.

Take care when doing these things. Please ask questions and ask for real world phone numbers and addresses to varify the who, whats, wheres and credentials of the so called mental health sites and personnel that do these such things. there are also places like the better business bureau, state boards of certified and licensing sovcial workers, and other therapy professionals where you can varify who and the complaint backgrounds and so on. Take care all.

The only personal information they've gathered from me is my sex, age, and country of origin.
